this week's list started last week, when i took the girl to preschool and went to circle her mood on the sign in sheet. but there was no option for her state of being that day. so i gave them a verbal heads up and they appreciated that. clearly it was a list in need of expansion. tammy from
daisy yellow got things started with bewildered, giggly, exuberant, and questionable, and from there the rest of the words flowed like wine. it was quite the aha moment when i finished. no wonder days can be so complicated - not only with children, but for all of us. who knows what mood we'll wake up hosting, let alone others in the household? at work? in public? i think we all need our own sign-in sheet every morning. it would be a common courtesy to the rest of the world, a public notice to let others know whether they're in for a trick or a treat from us.

(background images: 1) the ethnic paris cookbook, 2) recipes from provence, 3) traditional sarasatic patterns, 4) robert guest's lunchbox notes to his kids in esopus, 5) côté sud, 6) ready made, 7) the cute/idealistic BOHO mag, and the FABULOUS new polaroid book WORD by jen shaffer and jen victoor. a must if you are a polaroid fanatic - available
here and

p.s. yesterday i was histrionic and hungry, and today i'm somewhere between tired and questionable.
Aimee! That was AWESOME! And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that vacillates between moods. Ever the extremist, today I'm already going back and forth between sassy and chill.
And I agree - I think we should tape our moods right smack on our foreheads (along with our birthday lists!) every day to give everyone a literal head's up! LOL!
So here's me for today: http://megibug.blogspot.com/2010/11/giving-thanks-list.html
xoxo
P.S. I'm usually so late to your list party, perhaps I should add 'stunned' to my mood! :)
So fun - don't you feel like all of these sometimes? Haha!
This is like two lists in one--the moods and the backgrounds which are fantastic. I bet that preschool sign-in sheet is an interesting list in itself.
Seinfeld fans can view my list today at:

Ooh, fun fun. I won't even try to describe my mood right now.
What an idea that would be to walk around and see everyone's mood post-it-note-d to their forehead...tee hee.
I am, in fact, both tired and fidgety. Good list and really fun backgrounds.
I am listing it (albeit a shorty this week):http://megustaensalada.blogspot.com
i actually am ok with mornings, and can sometimes be even a little cheerful. but if i had someone asking me every morning what my mood is, i'd probably bite their head off!
thank you, thank you, for the good words about WORD!!!
I´d have a sign that says: mood may swing at any time without notice. :D
hi aimee, must read your lists in peace and quiet:)i put up my list: http:missyerem.blogspot.com
Ohhh... great list Aimee! I still haven't decided which one fits me this morning. Huh, must be "indecisive."
Here's my Canadian Edition of List it Tuesday: http://buffalolucy.com/2010/11/23/list-it-tuesday-canadian-edition/
jen, now that you pointed that out, if someone asked my mood every morning i'd probably slug 'em too. but i like lisa's idea of putting a post it note on my forehead.
Love your Can I feel like about seven different moods at the same time?
I'm in on List it Tuesday!

great lists.
as a therapist, often I have to work with my clients on building a repertoire of feeling words. most people can't say more than "good" "tired" "depressed" "happy" etc.
So we work on that A LOT!
Today, I feel stressed and irritated. Here's my list. Now, back to cleaning and getting ready for guests on Thanksgiving. Hope everyone has a great one!

At this stage of the game I am histrionic, cranky, savage, and a little needy.
Back to my 1.30 a.m. to 2.30 a.m stretch of editing, and then off to bed.
(Thanks for providing me with a much-needed break!)
Aimee, love the lists! Today I am bewildered, a litle surly and tired. Surly because I am doing all the cooking and baking 2 pies for thanksgiving while on a very restrictive diet. I don't recall seeing "bummed" on the list...ha!
Have a good holiday!
Ahh....very good idea...but...what happens when you awake in one mood and by mid-day you are another mood? Maybe carry a pad of post-it notes so you can change? I love lists so this is great...wait, one minute, mood about to change.....lol
