I had no idea what I was going to do for my list until I dropped off #1 at school today and brought #2 home. I had promised her she could watch a cartoon, something we usually don't have time for in the mornings. On the TV went, and... bing! Through my head ran the ticker tape of the perpetual annoyances on the preschool channels. So emerged today's list. If you've seen any of these shows, need I say more? The page on the right has nothing to do with this, obviously - it was already there and just along for the ride. Happy listing (if you posted your own handwritten list today, please put your link in the comments) and happy AEDM creating! Have a great day!

Perhaps you could use one of my 'non-swear' words and hurtle it out loud at the TV?!
Love your listing antics...many thanks for allowing me on-board! (-;

I nannied a long while back, so I can understand the concept, though not these particular shows :) the hissing trash can made me smile too.
LOVE your list. :) The way you play with lettering really inspires me. Thank you!
Ok, if my garbage can would have hissed at me...that would have scared the ready-whip right out of me!

Oh, I can *so* identify with your list. And there are so many others...
Oooo calliou that whiney little bastard.
I finally did it!

Oh God, Caillou..........
I always took issue with Blue's Clues too. Mama Mia!
I'm along for the ride again:

Love your list Aimee! Oh gosh... I miss the days of the original Blues Clues... :)
Here's my voting rant/list :)

My kids are too old for me to know about any of these shows. (thank goodness!!!)
Here's my list for the week. It's all about the spud. Enjoy!

stupid blogger ate first comment which went something like this:
Caillou = whiney ass baldie. kids are not allowed to watch.
Phineas and Ferb make me happy. Could watch them all day.
Upside Down Show is a favorite but only on in middle of the night. WTF.
Love the hissing trash can.
Hi Aimee, I've been waiting all day for your list - the time difference in Northern Ireland I guess!! I don't know any of those shows as I don't have kids and I'm guessing some of them wouldn't be shown here anyway but I love the way you've laid it out and I also love that your list is about things that make you go Grrr (in a specific stylee) and so is mine!!
http://pointypix.blogspot.com/2010/11/list-it-tuesday-things-that-make-me-go.html
Luckily I cannot relate to this list at all - I am DONE with all that - yippee, yippee yay! PS I do like the comment about voting no to 70's decor. I grew up with 70's decor - and I have always seen it as the style of my parents. I couldn't believe it when it came back in fashion and people actually LIKED it ...
We're not big tv watchers and don't have cable so I don't recognize a lot of those. My baby is seven now so the shows aimed at the super young are not even played in my home anymore, but I think Caillou (sp?) is cute! Reminds me of a cabbage patch. :)
I remember the nails on chalkboards for me were Barney and Telle Tubbies. giggle giggle Gack!!!
Great list idea :)
you still get kipper? ihaven't seen that in years. love it!
i don't know what's up with the upside down show, why they've shuffled it off to the after hours. it is distressing. but oh, yes, we still get kipper! i love him. so chill.
Um, what do you have against my spanish speaking nanny Dora?
My list today is pets I used to have. SO much fun.

Children's shows can be hair tearing annoying! I used to hate Teletubbies which was way past me, but my ex liked to torture me by actually turning it on during the morning to wake me up! *Gnashes her teeth*
It really makes me think of my little sister's Baby Talk doll that would go off in the middle of the night if she moved or if the lights in the hallway were turned on. Reliable sources say I would scream, "SHUT UP BABY TALK, I HATE YOU!" in my sleep occasionally :)
Uck, I hated that doll-makes my nose wrinkle just thinking of it.
Ha, your lists crack me up! I'm with ya on the Caillou (can't stand that show). I have much love for the Phineas and Ferb!
Here you go! Two for the price of one this week. ;)
I totally agree with all your list items...except WOnder Pets...yes the songs are totally get under your skin, I am humming it, in it's proper key right now, but I just love the idea behind this show! Oh, and the upside down show...we don't know this one, I'm guessing my guys are too old for it! But Phineas and Ferb - logan love them right now!
lovely! i can get into listing frenzy at times...hehe
If you ask me, ever since the Loony Tunes stopped producing, the rest have just been phoning it in.
In other news, a list of the states I've never been to:
http://scatterbox.typepad.com/scatterbox/2010/11/list-it-tuesday-112-states-in-which-ive-never-set-foot-or-tire.html
I need to make more interesting lists! I have my hand written list written on my hand and I have three out of six items crossed off as done. I can barely get my day to day lists done much less come up with the creative lists you write. Thanks for saying what most of us have felt at one time or another.
okay.....i've been an empty-nester for so long that i've never even heard of some of those shows.......eeeek, i hate being out of the loop!!! although, i do know who dora is......and it would be on my list, too, if i had one.
many congrats, girlie, for your alpha-success in somerset.....you make us letter-lover-geeks proud!!!! bravo!! xoxox, :))
I love your lists! I will definitely have to play around with that, too.
You are full of inspiration (I have stopped in quite often in the past weeks but not left a comment, tehee).

OOh, I'm glad mine have finally grown out of that list - but I remember LOVING the Upside Down Show, it was SO creative and clever. Well, I mean the 'boys' were, the lady I found annoying! lol.
Hi Aimee,
Speaking of kids shows… but this is for adults… Steve Burns from Blues Clues tells a rather funny (albeit sad too) story of his life. http://itunes.apple.com/podcast/the-moth-podcast/id275699983
These short stories are really well done and I can't wait to hear the next when they're uploaded.
I enjoy seeing your list… it's a sneak peak into your process. I really enjoy your handwriting. I can see how similar it is to your art. Hmmm, that gives me something to think about about my own list making… it's all over the place… similar to my art. :)

Loved the comment about your garbage can! Alas, I have not heard of any of those shows. Guess I should be glad!
I posted a list! It's at www.vickismithart.blogspot.com.
Thanks
Thankfully, we are well past those shows here. Teletubbies used to drive me up a wall. I didn't think I had a list today, but then I pulled my voting cheat sheet out of my pocket.....

Great fun colors on your site.
I love the drunken tiles.
Finally! Someone else who loves Phineas & Ferb! What the heck is wrong with two brothers who use their brains to help their friends? And yes, they annoy their sister, but duh ... that's what they're supposed to do.
And I always hated that whiny twit Calliou, too!
I haven't seen any of those shows but they sound awful!! The ones in the UK seem quite reasonable to me.
I cannot believe I'm about to say this...I made a list. While weak, it's something. It can be found here: www.tlholmesinklings.blogspot.com
Kipper which is aired here was my favorite too when my daughter was smaller. Now she loves Phineas & Ferb. Nice list, I love all your posts. :)
I despise Caillou!!
Made a list today!!
http://climbingthelatter.blogspot.com/2010/11/list-it-tuesday.html
I also deplore Caillou or whatever his name is. My 2.5yro has an ADDICTION to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...it is strange and unnatural...but not so as much as Sponge Bob (I have a post about the unnatural thing that is Sponge Bob) ... I do enjoy a good Phineas and Ferb episode and The Upside Down Show takes the cake!! My brother performs physical theater and this reminds me of him.
I should make a list of reasons I haven't made a list yet...it would be HUGE. Maybe next week. The best of intentions.
This comment is almost as long as a post...I wonder if it would count for my NaBloPoMo ...I could move today's to tomorrow....
Might help if I leave a link to my list. It's been one of those days. ;)

I totally agree with your list! Can we add Spongebob to it too?
you crack me up....i have had to sit through ALL these shows more times than i like to admit.
thanks for making me feel NOT so alone in my loathing.
xo

I just read through a bunch of these comments and I am wondering just who "Calliou" is??? Kids are in High School and college.....but I could make a list someday of "sit coms" that get on my last nerve!
Here's my list:

Ah yes, I totally agree with your #1, the husband and I CANNOT STAND that high pitched billiard ball.
We Love Phineas & Ferb here too! They do a great job mixing in some jokes for the adults :)
Once again, I am a day behind - my List went up this morning:
http://meloniejohnson.com/blog/2010/11/03/list-it-tuesday-3-mamas-meeting/
I ran an in home daycare for 5 years, I can so relate!!
Girlfriend! Finally someone who dislikes caillou As much as I do. My kids are well beyond the little years now but just thinking of that kid makes me want to scream. Lol
Mari
I've actually enjoyed all of the shows listed, even the ones you abhor. BTW, I don't have kids.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh my goodness, Caillou! Ugh! He makes Charlie Brown look like Mr. Clean.
I LOVE Phinneas and Ferb and the Upside Down Show! Yeah!
Caillou= NO, NO, and NO!
When my 5-yo was a little guy, it was the first show I banned. That kid (Caillou, not my own) is so damn whiny, I couldn't take it.
Man up, Caillou!
Mickey Mouse is on my list too.
On an unrelated note, I am currently swept up in a swirl of activity and am just catching up on over a MONTH of posts by you, which makes me sad, because I love to read your posts on a regular basis. You are a fantastic writer, and you hae a gift for words. So happy to be back!
