weekword/number

intel-astronaut-invasion

if you want a stuffed intel astronaut, get thee to funkytown stat - they are going fast! at the time of the mass descent, there were about 100 in the trees, last week there were 50 and now there are only 15 of these popular little invaders up for grabs. we filched 2 of them, leaving 1 cut and paste necklace and 1 little tikes toddler piano in their places. on our way home we left 3 of my happy mixed message magnets on stop signs in the neighborhood. it took all of my willpower not to slap the dirty word magnets on the signs. then we placed bets on how long the magnets would take to disappear. my girls guessed anywhere between 3 weeks and 1 year.

(the weekword is number, chosen by peggy.)

I love the magnets-I had not seen those before-they will make the people who find them really happy I should think! The astronauts are fun, hanging around like that!

What a brilliant thing to do. I love it, I want to live there too!

Excellent!! I wish I lived close enough to funkytown to get me one of those astronauts!

I would stop and look both ways for one of your mixed messages.

These little astronauts are adorable. Wish I lived near there! I think your magnets were scooped up within hours of putting them out there in the world!

PS: just coming back to share a bumper sticker idea: I brake for mixed message magnets.

It seems as if there's never a dull moment (or street corner) in Lawrence! You've inspired me to go out and find the funky parts of my town.

Haha, slapping magnets on roadsigns hey? That qualifies as a Random Act of Gorgeousness, I think!

I had a party last Friday, and several people left to go check them out (thanks to you!). But they came back, so that was okay. I wonder what will happen when that child (I don't remember her name) outgrows this project, or maybe it will continue forever, with a life of its own....

I was one of the people who left Theresa's party in search of funky town! It was a little adventure, but some neighborhood boys playing basketball pointed us in the right direction. After seeing this post, I thought I better run back! I snagged an orange astronaut and left a rubber cockroach and zebra finger puppet. There are already fewer astronauts than Friday night, and even from your picture Saturday. And, the toys have even changed.

i swear you live in the best town! how great is this? p.s. your magnets are too hard to resist- i´m betting they are already gone:)

The answer is 176. Do I win a prize? One of those astronauts? Oh wait. I am getting a bit confused. I am not proofreading that Grade 3 Maths text anynore. Yippeeeeee!!

Lori said...

FUNNY. I'm thinking the magnets are already gone!

Oh that is GREAT! How happy and free, to be floating in a tree.

I just read about some promotion or social experiment where hundreds of $5 bills were pinned to a tree. At first, people just walked by, barely noticing or only stopping to snap a picture.
