composition time

composition-time

i adore blank notebooks. i love the freshness, the neatness, the raw potential of an untouched notebook. who will buy it? what will be done with it, written in it, discovered in it? now that it's back to school time - well you can imagine. stacks of notebooks! everywhere! it's almost too much for my mixed up brain to process. simple composition books like these are my faves of the bunch. the covers are rock solid sturdy for collage, the pages are sewn and stay put (unlike those peevish microperf pages in spiral bound books), the binding is hearty and durable, and lucky for me they are only a quarter each at target right now. around this household, the phrase "i need some composition time" is a polite request from one adult to the other for some kid-free time so we can work or invent or do whatever we need to do without interruptions for a few hours. we are now fully stocked here and ready for composition time, but it's guaranteed that i'll sneak back to target and raid the back to school section a few more times. i am a certified sucker for school supplies.

I too love school supplies. Back to school season is a VERY dangerous time for me to be in target. But I might have to risk it for some composition notebooks!

I think I've found my sister-Back-to-School-Supply Love! You! I love those comp. books, it's the only one I use for my Personal, Private, for my eyes only therapeutic rant and general non-sense journaling. Gotta get to Target and stock up Now! Thanks for the heads up :D

I love your composition time request. (So much better than "Aaaaah! I can't get anything done around here!")

Those notebooks look like an open invitation to creativity. Best wishes for some productive composition time!

how does one resist?! i'm going to have to walk past the school supply aisles with blinders on... if you see a lady @ target with a crazed look on her face and an armful of colorful comp books, that's me.

I love the colors. I got a bunch last year which haven't been used so I haven't bought any this year. Mine are almost all black though. Oh well, I can splash some paint on them.

I'm with you! I get extra of everything the kids need ... kind of a one for you, one for me deal ... and sometimes I even let them play with my stash.

Fun colors. I think I need to hit Target, too!

These are required at Miss A's charter school, so we just stocked up for 25 cents too! Could you post some ideas for decorating the cover? To help inspire me, ya know ;)

I'm a sucker for school supplies too--and I love composition books. These bright ones are great. Some years they have other great patterns. But I also love FILLED books--either journals or sketchbooks--where I can look back over where my head and eyes were over that period of months.

Ooh I love new school supplies too! Makes me want to go shopping right now. I just put out a fresh stack of wide lined paper on my desk and I just love seeing it there. ;)

i still love school supplies and would take the black & white versions and color the covers.

me too. I buy no less than 20 pack of crayong when they are 25cents. Fresh art supplies are as juicy as fresh notebooks.

I've been stocking up too! Every time I go, I get at least 10 of them. I got more yesterday, and the supply was dwindling.

We must have the same "school & office supply chip."
When they load the new school supplies at Target I can hardly stand it...I love to feel them, open ALL of them...I mean they are all the same but I love them...gosh they come in colors now and everything, college ruled (my fave) and wide ruled. Remember when they were just black and white? No fun at all except to cover. I wish there was a support group for this. (I admit that I am helpless, etc. etc.)

If only they didn't have lines...I can't handle the lines!

Oooh. I love these! I have only one, in basic black and white, and it's nearly full. I think I need one in every color!

Oh yes, I'm with you Aimee. I always think that if I won the lottery, most of my time and money would be spent in stationery shops!

i love school supplies too.

Oh, and do not overlook the handy dandy times tables and conversion charts inside the cover! They don't all have that anymore, but many still do - especially in our podunk town that still has stock on the shelves from 1968.

A quarter, you say?

Love the concept of composition time...I am going to Target..I need to compose myself...Composition notebooks are not the only thing I need for my middle schooler and my new high schooler...Ahhhhhkkk!
