get moving now

get-up2

will someone please tell me what this is? a bird? a turkey? a peacock? a rooster? a bir-key-cock-ster? whatever it is, it has managed to deliver the message "do it now" cheerfully and i guess that's all that matters! my major call to action this week is getting back to running every day, one sluggish mile at a time. so far i can manage two :)

hanna chose the terrific weekword NOW - there's still time to join and post your interpretation on friday. i posted mine a day early, for obvious reasons - it couldn't wait!

(p.s. NOW a print and a magnet in the shop.)

I think this is definitely a peacock or a cousin of a peacock!

Good for you with the running. Keep it up! Five months ago, I could barely do a few circles around the ice rink and now I'm doing tangoes and waltzes. All those individual days really do add up to something wonderful! Go Aimee!

I like the fifth choice most - it looks appropriate for the name. That, or "motivational rooster"? Whatever the case, I love the colors most of all, and the message. Best of luck and thanks for the inspiration Aimee!

ah, the elusive birkey cockster. when in god's 24 hours are you running? admit it - you have an extra hour everyday when the rest of us are frozen. I'm proud of you. a half marathon is in your future...xox

Hmmm...whatever it is, it is making me smile. :)

Congrats on the running!! I've so sadly fallen off the wagon (uh, the road?) and haven't run in days. Keep it up...i'll keep reading and you keep motivating me. :)

it is definitely a kind of peacock. I see them as very determined birds.

Rare and elusive, birkeycockster, stalks his prey and motivates his unsuspecting victims.

(ps, I just started running last month for the first time in a shameful amount of years. Loving it, but mostly loving the IDEA of it)

Love your new header. I'm so happy to see that cooking is still not a part of artsyville!

Wow! A peacock dressed for Broadway or a fashion show - so chic!

Congrats on runnin' I run my mouth but that's about it. Just thinkin' about it tires me out or is it this 8 month preggo body tiring me?

I need ice cream NOW!

That birdie-doo is soooo cute! She reminds me of a mouring dove, which are all called Millie in our house. I love her head and plumage and featherage...well, all of her!!! Great message, too...need to take that to heart.

it's a peacock? I love your new banner. Your whimsical, colorful drawings make me smile! I showed my mom (she's 79) your blog & she said you were "charming"...

Whatever he is, I just love him! I've had run-ins with cocksters before, and none of them looked quite this good.

All of a sudden, the Partridge Family comes to mind. Aaah, David Cassidy.....

Peacock! I love those little circles coming off his head...you may see those end up on a bird or two of mine!

Way to go on the running!

Your peacock-a-doodle would make a groovy centerpiece to a PA Dutch hex sign.

I like the happy & colourful bird - but its message may be a bit too much for me in my current fragile state. It reminds me of a manager I had for 8 years who greeted us at Monday morning meetings with: Ah! All bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, I see!!! Every Monday. But I have to say, it is the kind of message I wish I had around when I still had kids in the house. And I also really have to get going & moving & grooving and start doing my 5km walk every day, which I have stopped due to work pressures. But not right now. For now I will have a glass of champagne, thank you very much!

it reminds me of the craft partridge from the wooden partridge in a pear tree set my mother painted with us around 1973.

I'm thinking partridge.
And I was just telling M. the other day I wish I could find exercise I really liked and could stick to. I admire you for running. Gardening and toodling around on my bike seems to be my norm lately.

it's a gallo de barcelos of sorts sporting voodoo pins on its head and with a serious case of alopecia (no wonder with all those pins) and leglessness.

nonetheless, a pretty articulate orator.

with that amazingly gorgeous costume he is wearing I certainly hope he has an equal flare for the dance so that he can impress the ladies :)
