where are the bad blogger awards when you need them? please do not give up on the ville! i am still here, head glued to the doodletable. making slow but good progress, helped along by my bear medicine and this impeccably timed arrival from my sister last week. (if you like this, get over to blue barnhouse for more). the pisser is i can't share much about the project at the moment but i should know whether it's a go or a belly-up shortly after i turn forty. in other words it's one of those things i need to finish, then forget about for a long time. in the meantime, if you're game for keeping me company, let's have a happy hour. what's your favorite drink? any kind - doesn't have to be spiked. i love shots in the dark (prescription-strength coffee with shots of espresso), pomegranate soda, moroccan mint green tea, ginger ale, nearly any kind of pale ale, and a glass of good red wine. back to posting my normal nonsense soon - please stick with me!

red wine, please! water tonight, though. keep going, aimee, your hard work will be well rewarded. :)
I'm pretty boring drink-wise, usually drinking unsweetened ice tea (here in the somewhat South, you must specifically ask for it unsweetneed). At Christmas we went out to dinner an had two cool drinks: a pineapple mojito that was spiked with something spicy (chipotle?) and a plum fairy margarita that was purple in color, the glass was ringed with chunky sugar, and decorated with an edible flower. It was very light and sweet.
Good luck with your project! ♥
Nice to see you back! Good luck with the project!
I've been on an apple cider kick lately - by the gallon from local Vermont orchards and also the Woodchuck (also Vermont made!) hard cider, mmmm! I also just tried Steaz soda and was quite pleased. And as soon as it stops raining here and warms up a little, I am looking forward to morning smoothies again. I think those kinda of count as a drink?
Looking forward to your return - in the meantime enjoy life outside the blogging world! And good luck with the project.
My drinks: Sparkling water with lemon, tea (particularly chamomile lavender), mudslides, jack & cokes, and vodka tonics.
Chai with milk and lots of sugar for the mornings and red wine for the evenings.
If it's a party or celebration, Guinness. Coca-Cola for daytime...or iced tea.
Good luck! No worries, we'll be here when you get back!
STICK'n...STICK'n...I've been bad too...sometimes other things just get in the way.
HUGS

What ARE you up to? It seems exciting whatever you're working on. :) Hooray for progress!
The beverage I've been drinking the most of lately is hot tea but now with these spring temps (finally!) I may have to try something new. Your moroccan mint green tea sounds good and I love a good strong ginger ale.
Oh well, I like the ones with alcohol in them. But I'm still a bit of a weakie. Malibu rum and pineapple is what I drink all summer long, and during the winter when I'm pretending it's summer! I keep the umbrellas and fruit for the rim on hand to help me believe I'm trapped alone on a desert island. With No One Else Around. Except the silent cabana boy who keeps my glass filled.
Your project is intriguing! but if it is something you won't be able to share... will still follow your blog!
I actually like raspberry ice tea (Lipton's instant)... I know it probably has mega spoons of sugar... thank goodness I drink it only a couple of times a month... mostly chilled water w/lemon slices....
Red Wine, a good mojito, or fresh squeezed blood orange juice for me, please.
Hang in there!
Coffee, Mochas, Irish coffee, Kaluha and Coffee, Bailey's and Coffee...are you sensing a theme here?
Oops! Forgot to say good luck with your project!
no worries! we´ll still be here! where else can we get a nice dose of nuttiness? good luck, dear lady!
looking forward to finding out wotcha been up to!
I'll have a chilled glass of rosé while watching the sun go down please!
Give me a glass of cheap chardonnay and good conversation. :)
Wishing you much luck on that project! While you're busy, busy, busy, I will be drinking a fine red wine (have to dig around the bottles of cheap red wine to get to it).
I also have a fondness for those frozen coffee drinks. Yum. I could go without sleep for weeks and drink them continuously. When I'm feeling bad, I steal my daughters orange/tangerine juicy juice boxes.
Hey, we're still here too! Favorite drink - I am boring. I love water. I also love coffee and tea with honey. Occasionally, a good beer, nothing too dark or a glass of pinot grigio.
where else would we go? i love a really good hot chocolate with a shot of espresso and whipped cream. yum. scott, on the other hand, will drink coffee from anyplace (coffee ho), but prefers the good old-fashioned deli because they notice if he doesn't come in each morning.
keep your head up!
i'll take a happy hour with you anyday, dear aimee! i do like a lemonade/ice tea mix with a squeeze of lime! on a whole other beverage note, i just must get a milk frother from ikea for my coffee!/we just stayed with fam in chicago & they had one & it was the best!
it will be lovely to see your project in full fruition..enjoy your beverages as you create!!
Can't start the day without a cup of tea but after that well...gin & tonic, pimms, cider, wine, bitter ... I could go on
Good luck with your project
a good strong cup of black tea with plenty of milk and sugar!
I was going to start complaining...
Drinks though: I like a good moscato. Chai. and Pepsi.
A few of my faves:
Sweet tea vodka, lemonade and a splash of lemoncello (the "John Daly")
2 shots of Cream d' Kiki (key lime liquor) and 2 shots of Cruzan Mango rum in a big glass over ice finished with Sunkist sparkling lemonade (the "Cool your temper")
and red wine
and beer. I love beer ;)
Have missed your writing, but am excited about your new, top secret project!!
T :)
i love that you are taking a break to make art, art, art, art... i also can't wait to see what you've been working on. of course...we'll be here to toast and cheer...
manischevitz baby. fifth cup anyone?
miss you, you sly doodling dog!
Aimee,
Ones own blog does have a way of tapping obnoxiously on ones shoulder doesn't it? I once lamented to a friend about the obligatory feeling of posting frequently on my blog. She said, diplomatically, "well, since a lot of your readers are busy moms, they probably appreciate not having too many posts to catch up on."
My drink is a nut brown ale, drunk outside while surveying the crops.
I love Virgil's root beer!
I will stick with you...pwomis!! and I'll wait patientlly..
XOXOrly..oh yeah and I love Pommegranate soda too...I love mint tea...hot water with fresh mint leaves in it...no tea bag...
HAHA, love the look on her face, especially.
My favorite drink is anything carried to me on a platter by a hot, shirtless man. And by hot, I do not mean sweaty.
Good luck on your project!
not going anywhere... =)
Winter time- red wine
Warm weather- Sangria or pinot grigio.
Good luck with your project and cheers!
sounds like life is getting in the way of all the fun.....how about i make us a couple of lemonade coolers and we'll chat for a while?!!! good luck with your project!! :))
oh, thank goodness. i was just about to shoot you an email. you scared me. but i checked here, first. phew!
this is a very very important discussion. my coffee must be strong, kenyan aa or sumatran, in the french press; or espresso from the brikka; or a triple-shot latte with a pretty something on top. my favorite tea is a mate from teavana, or plain ol' cinnamon when decaf is called for. my favorite wine is casillero del diablo carmenere 2007. thick lovely stuff that leaves a stain on the teeth that is really entertaining to watch build up in the mouth of friends. pomegranate mojito is a new fave. though i would surely love to down a few malibu pineapples with that pixie lady.
and water. i also like water, a lot.
I've missed your snark and art Aimee! Thanks for popping in! Micro-brewed pale ales for me, properly poured Guinness, and a fresh Bloody Mary. YUM!! Cheers friend! Can't wait to see what you're brewing.
plingper - my word verification
No problem, we're still here :)
um, we love you amiee, because you're amiee and you always make us smile or think when we come over. we're the kind of peeps who may not hear from you for a while, but when we do, it's like time never passed at all. you're that kind of friend. best of luck with your projects, those are the toughest to let go..
a minty mojito for me please.
i have missed you, but it's good to know you're busy creating. favorite drink? that would have to be a classic margarita on the rocks with salt. my mom introduced them to me (possibly before i was legal, but we won't go there) ... and i think that was because she knew i'd like it AND choke on the salt, thereby providing her with a laugh.
is it five o'clock yet?
Don't worry, I already won the bad blogger award ;) It's mine! And I’ll celebrate with some (a lot) of red wine ;)
coffee for me! pls
missed you
glad you well..hope to chatting with you soon again
and heaing more from the Ville

Oh ginger wine would be lovely. I mostly drink tea but I'll make an exception for you! the 'project' sounds intriguing and I love that card from your sister.

Can't wait to hear more bout your top secret project!!
thanks................................................
OH MY GOD! I just read Bella's comment about her drink and now I am HOT! I just woke up and haven't had any coffee yet and BAM! I am awake!
Vodka tonic with lots of lime. Dirty Penny Ale was good this week too, but alas I was just visiting New England. Good luck with your project. :o)
I'm never leaving... I'm here, drinking my tea... wondering what all your secret shenanigans are... life does go on outside of the blog window... I'm still not leaving... ooo more tea, it's raining here today... thought I'd just hang out at your place... xo
Give up on the Ville and its marvellous Villainess? But never! Hard work is necessary and often even pleasurable, but unfortunately it does affect how we might want to spend our time. More so when the hard work is not very creative, i.e. editing and proofreading Maths and Physical Science texts. So I have also been slow in blogging as well as in getting around to my fave blogs. And it is going to get worse in the coming weeks. Oh dear, I need some bear medicine, I think. Or maybe my favourite drink, since you asked - chilled bubbly. Preferably Steenberg 1682MCC Pinot Noir Brut.
Redwine...mojitos...gintonic...coffee at all time...beer...could be some of my faves...
Saturday I went dancing all night in CPH untill the morningbus drove me su casa...HAHA...I tried a drink called "Sex on the beach"???? to sweet for me though...HAHAHAHA
How wonderful that you're not blogging 'cause you're doodling Aimee! When I'm not blogging it's usually 'cause I'm... err, just not blogging... :) I hope the project's going brilliantly and look forward to seeing you on your return!
As for drinks, I'm a bit of a camel and have to consciously remind myself to take in sufficient liquids. I do enjoy tea (all sorts, iced or hot, but especially ginger, spiced chai, or English breakfast blend...), and the occasional summery pimms with extra mint or a glass of lovely red wine. Water, not a fan. I have to force it down 'cause I know it's good for me. Happy happy hour!
ohhhh, so cryptic! I hear you on projects like that...remember the painting you liked of Uptown? I had entered it for the Uptown Art Show poster contest, but couldn't tell anyone...just found out I didn't win. :-( Boo hoo..but thems the breaks! I will have a mug of Tazo Orange Tea in your honor, Aimee, keep on working on your project! :-)
My blogging days are slow too. Hard to keep up with all of it! Everyone will live without you for a while, but just barely....:)
i'm still here, but have been laying love too :) and now i'm catching up (that was a heads up on the comments storm i am planning to send your way).
fave drink: right now it's coffee from our new espresson machine, fresh passion fruit juice, corona bears (i like the weak ones), mojitos (because my friend brought havanah club for her visit and we have A LOT of mint growing in the garden), a good glass of wine (red or white, depending on the time and the day). And water is pretty cool too.
