the traveling doodlespirit

my camera and i need to have a chat. it knows all about my ravenous appetite for travel, which came to an alarming halt after the girls were born. it has indulged me in some magnificent stateside trips over the past year, true. but it has developed the habit in recent months of abducting mr. artsyville - who is quite content staying put - to gad about the world while i'm stuck in the daily doo doo of domesticity, and quite frankly it's starting to chap my gypsy hide. first it was india. then it was china. then it was hong kong. and now the cheeky thing has run off to costa rica without me, once again whisking away my husband as the shutterguy.

so i created a traveling doodlespirit to tag along with my lovely one on the journey this time, and what a ride it was! oh, the things we did and saw in costa rica!

costa-rica-3-girl

we wandered through the streets and gazed at architecture together. chatted with the townspeople.

costa-rica-1-girl
saw love and texting in action.

costa-rica-2-girl

nibbled on plantains, pupusas and other delights.

costa-rica-4-girl

shopped at the little roadside markets.

costa-rica-5-girl

and eavesdropped on people as they went about their daily lives.

i wonder where my doodlespirit will go next? if you could go anywhere today, where would your doodlespirit take you?

Love this! What delicious adventures your doodlespirit had in Costa Rica. Can't wait to see where she goes next! If I could go anywhere today, I think my doodlespirit would go to somewhere south of the equator, where it's summer and I could sit on or overlooking a beach, eating fresh seafood and sipping something cool... Good company would be a bonus :)

yay for doodlespirit tagging along!

That is a fun idea! Not sure where mine would take me. Maybe to some places I might not have access to otherwise, for example Buckingham Palace at three o'clock on a Sunday afternoon. Or is that spying?!

My husband says I can't have a doodlespirit with bags for fear she'll hit him over the head in frustration. He travels for business, too, and all the farther I've gotten from Ohio is Indianapolis.

One day, I'll be hitting Europe in style.

Hmm....I've sent my doodlespirit up to my sewing room, to cut out bag pieces so I can skip right to the sewing step! I spend so much time wishing I had more time there...

I'm with Susie. I need LOTS of chingaderitas ys huarachudas! And mine will need very messy bed hair because rolling out of bed just before hitting the pupuseria is what I'm all about.
Sister, you kill me. Your husband is a scoundrel and shall be made to pay for this chicanery. Big time.

I like this idea a tremendous deal... mine would today go to someplace in Turkey. I've never been there and think I'd like the sights. They'd well suit my Tuesday afternoon mood.
