an evening at pambiche

what's better than one corner viewer having a fun evening? two corner viewers having a fun evening! susie/inner toddler and i topped off our terrific day with dinner at pambiche, a tiny cuban restaurant in northeast portland, recommended by this fabulous lady. there were maybe 400 square feet and fifteen tables to pambiche, if that, but it had the culinary and visual impact of a citywide festival and proved to me once again that the diminutive dining spots are usually the ones well worth the wait.

dessert came in the form of an exuberant cab driver who invented stories for our entertainment and swore merrily at us on the way back to the monaco. a perfect, colorful evening. jane has more in store for you here.

Oh Aimee, what fun I've had catching up on your latest posts - this place and your adventure in Portland looks like SUCH fun! And I'm so very impressed that you took your own advice to make this happen - it was very sound advice, but I find it often hard to apply the things I know make sense (and am happy to advise others to do) to myself. Respect to you for doing that! :)

Fun! I was just thinking how cool it would be if a bunch of corner viewers could meet!

Wow, I could have sworn you were in another country! Always judge a restaurant by the number of patrons willing wait to crowd into it. A perfect dinner. And that cab driver!!! Hahahaha

lovely corner view (was getting a bit tired of xmas lights, to be honest with you. no offence to anyone.)

om wow... i LOVE all those colors... i'm wondering what it is about Cuban restaurants that they frequently seem to be so small... intimate dining?

what an awesome place to spend an evening... some wine, good food (plantains yum), gorgeous artwork and a friend... perfect ...
