favorite dish

favorite-dish

most of you know my opinion on food prep - i could go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day with nary a regret. when pressed, however, i can make a big ass burrito bowl, curry lentil soup and grilled cheese. when times are desperate we toss anything in the house onto tortilla chips, heat the oven to 400 degrees and cross our fingers.

see jane for more inspiring dishes and aris for more of my bad word magnets. happy wednesday!

HA! Funny. I am not a fan of cooking either. Just soups actually. Because you put it all in a pot and let it go.

Next time I visit Lawrence, I'm totally hitting you up for a big ass burrito bowl!

Ahhhh, Burrito bowl!!! Aimee's Burrito Bowl, that is! It's divine, nothing like it in the world. And it cures illness, too.
We need to get crafty together soon, perhaps this evening? Let's talk oilcloth, beads, numbers, drawings and much more! - I'll call ya

our commonalities continue to shock. 400 degrees makes everything crisp or melty. culinary perfection.

Wow! I love that spoon. The saying on the magnet is a good one. Is the background your counter top? It is amazing and wonderful.

Love the pattern overload - as for cooking, a necessity if you want to eat.

Oh, I'm with you on putting anything on tortilla chips and making it a meal. Though I will also will cover anything with melted cheese and salsa and eat it. That should be the name of my diet: the melted cheese and salsa diet. I put it on a bag of steamed veggies for lunch today.

i don't know what happened to me... somewhere in another lifetime in the distant past i used to cook from scratch... big gourmet meals for a lot of people (and actually enjoyed it)... and then something happened... i think i discovered painting and photography and so many other ways to be creative that i started to really avoid cooking at all costs... i'm with you... if i could i would eat out every meal... as it is now i'm always looking out for the easiest and quickest way to get the job done...

i therefore love this doodle beyond words... it's nice not to feel alone :)

raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, here's to lazy-bumness-in-da-kitchen!
love it how you can spend hours arched over a ketubah or a very similar intricate piece but that you refuse to cook. if it's not your thing, it's not your thing, right?

I actually go through faces in the kitchen. always have. currently I'm right in the middle of the "where's that take-away telephone list" face? ;)

great cloth, btw. what is it?

(p.s. la ninja is, indeed, a global kind of phenomenon)

I love this photo - and I want a burrito bowl too :)

You are so cute - and I bet your surprise tortilla chip dishes are finger-licking good!

You know, it is almost impossible to find good Mexican food in Germany - so all this talk about burritos and tortilla chips is actually making me hungry!

I hear ya! Even restaurant water tastes better!

Hahaha! I must say, as I get older I enjoy cooking more. It is different now that I have lots of time. When I had three (actually, four!) boys around the table demanding food, it was a chore. Now I like to experiment. Only problem, L'Usband is a very picky eater, his list of not-eats is very, very long! I would make more interesting stuff if I did not have to cut out mushrooms, brinjals, olives, peppers (of all kinds), chickpeas, spinach, all cheeses except cheddar, gouda and mozzarella, all seafood except fish, baby marrows, asparagus ... etc, etc.

...and as long as I don't have to wash that dish, either.

How about tuna? Tuna on chips? Blech? Tuna on chips with cheese??? Hmmmm.

Ooh, lots of patterns and colors going on in your kitchen. Who needs food anyway. I'll just feast my eyes on your beautiful things while guffawing over your sinfully delightful magnets.

cindy said...

you should have our 'i hate to cook book'. it's full if the cutest illustrations and recipes that are supposed to be simple. i think you're making a better use of your time with your doodle art vs. 'slaving' over a hot stove! interesting saying ;).

i love all the patterns in this one. ole!
