finally back in the corner view saddle this week, just in time to show a few souvenirs of our fine state. nothing makes my day quite like a truly cheesy souvenir, and as you can see, i had no issue scoring a few tacky postcards and magnets to remind me that there's no place like home. i had my heart set on a dorothy snow globe, but no luck. there MUST be one out there. i have hope.
a few updates from around blogville - sarah from PaPaYa! e-mailed me about a fun creative challenge going on over in their world, anairam gave me a huge smile this afternoon with her word creatures, and susie is having a buy one get one sale of her gorgeous watercolors over at mishmish market. i have the owl and the cat and i loveeee them! :)

I've missed your blog... can't wait to see what's been going on!
Happy KA DAy!
these are awesome.
love the quirk of the cheep souvi!
Aw, now I'm getting homesick. There is a store at the Legends that sells every Wizard of Oz item possible. Last year I took women from Serbia, Armenia and Tajikistan there and they went crazy.
you always find the best places to hang out....i love the "corner view" blog!! and, you think you've got tacky souvenir postcards?! come on down to florida....you ain't seen nothin' yet, baby! (i could easily make a reference to your doodlebutt post from the other day, i.e., tacky postcard photos of women with doodlebutts wearing bikinis....but i'll refrain)
:))
i love postcards!
I love tacky magnets :)
oh dorothy, that's it. I'm on the next flight to KS...

I myself got a lovely & shiny magnet depicting dorothy's red pumps + a great wicked witch to-do notebook a lovely kansas mate brought me... will try and show you soon (now I'm leaving this evil computer to go and do some sensible stuff).
but not before e-shouting "yeeeeeeeeeeeehaw" again!
Great post cards! We drove through Kansas a couple of years ago. The only thing I remember is field after field of land that was waiting for crops to be planted in them.
great cards!LOL
off on a trip around the world :) thanks for the links
I'd like to visit Kansas one day.
hey the cheesier the better... besos!
I love the kitsch postcards!! I had to go and buy something to post about = refused to spend £8 on a Dundee Cake so got another Dundee institution instead - the Beano Comic......our postcards have nothing on yours!
I love the Oz-Some magnet! Oh, I recently found glitter in my couch...
