i keep looking for more ways to milk the groovy doodle concept so i can 1) deplete my horrifying overstock of paper and 2) break my ancient printer so i can buy a new one. a while ago i designed and sold this line of personalized stationery - the precursor to the groovy doodle notes, i guess - but eventually stopped because it became so labor intensive that i spent most of my time producing and not designing. now that they've sat untouched for a few years, i'm no longer disenchanted with them, and valentina's weekword has inspired me to start freshening up the name notes with a few new designs. any other groovy doodle ideas? i did the wine tags last month - but what the heck else can i make with a bit of ink, colored paper and a printer? bookmarks? business cards? notepads? give me some ideas - i'll get rid of my paper and break that printer yet.
i'm thrilled to see so many new visitors here these days - an extra special thanks to those who came to artsyville via artists who blog and pecannoot. it's great to have you all here! your comments mean a great deal to me and i really appreciate it!

it's me again - sorry for the LOUSY photo quality on this one. my camera is out of commission so i had to use my phone. ugh!
I love the groovy doodle concept - I'll have to try that with my printer. :) M
aimee

i'm sorry i don't have no idea, i'm not inspired these days!!
but i hope you had a lot ideas!!
happy and inspired weekend for you!!
Door hangers? I bet you could come up with something fun for your studio and kids' rooms.
These are truly unique. Wonderful!
Hi! Me again. How about rearview mirror hangers? Or, you know those charms that people are supposed to put on wine glass stems at parties so that they don't get them mixed up? Maybe wine glass tags.
I *LOVE* those cards.. I'm running out of ideas right now, but sure something will click on my brain and I'll come back!
Hahaha...postcards?
Write some of your clever words and hang the card/notes around in your town...hide behind a bush and take a photo of peoples reactions...HAHA...I got the flu and fever therefore this dizzy idea...haha..PUHHH...sneeeezzzzzeeee
love your groovy doodle concepts- and what a great reinvention...
how about little greeting cards? aaahhmm also got the flu so will blame my brain deadness on that and the fact that i had no coffee yet. will come back if my brain starts kicking
xo
don't apologize, we get the picture. how about photo card holders? then, you can print and cut and fold!
you seem like the knda person who could master reinvention... :)
Hi Aimee :)
I found you through DJ's blog, and I'm so glad I stopped by! I love your artwork - how colorful!! I'll be visiting here more often :)
Hey...was that Seaport Village in your SanDiego photos? My hubby and I had a wonderful San Diego vacation in 1988 (before kids), and it's about time we went back again!!
CU :)
I love the groovy doodle idea.
I may just try that out. I am hoping to stretch my creativity this month.
Uhhhmmm... Bookplates (those things that say this book belongs to...), and custom biz cards, and uhm, I think my brain stops there...Love these note cards, but can see how they'd be time intensive...
just want you to know i've been thinking about you and hope you're having a good weekend w/ the girls.
Notepads are always useful around here - I'm always reaching for them! I try to keep one in my purse and in my car too.
As for your ancient printer, here's what I did with my ancient toaster oven... I chucked it full force into the trash can. Then I could tell my husband in all honesty that it finally *did* break :) heheheh
Megan :)
Yeah, it's good sometimes to put something away, only to find it again later, with a fresh new perspective. I'm sure whatever you do with 'em they'll be fab Aimee.
hmmm... I actually thought of you when I read this - http://www.designspongeonline.com/2009/07/paper-scrap-recycling.html. I thought you could make doodles for pens (there are a LOT that would be so fun to put there) and lids for jars. Only question: will the ink dissolve?
(and I don't think the pens would "pay off" economically ... but it would be fun!)
ohhh great to see you back on weekword :)
well, there's a world of possibilities! postcards, notebooks, etc. recycling is the word....
Hi, I came across your blog in the Artful Blogging magazine, and absolutely LOVE your work! I was curious as to how you get your name out there; I have the talent but not the self-marketing know-how. Any advice?
My blog is at www.laurenlizdesigns.blogspot.com
Your groovy doodles are too, too groovy!! Great reinvention of paper and ink! Hmmm, what else to make - no, my mind is stuck this morning ...
these are great suggestions! i've made a list of them all! really the only restriction is that the ink can't come into contact with water - it runs, and then it looks really NOT groovy.
if i can't break it the gentle way, i rather like meg's idea. maybe i'll just wait for a bad day and throw it down the alley.
have a great day all - and thanks for the ideas!! :)
I've just arrived here via Pecannoot which in turn I arrived at via a shared Google Reader item - isn't the internet wonderful sometimes? :-) Already loving what you do here and soaking up ideas.
