this wasn't really a surprise, but i don't walk down this block much so i always get tickled when i see it...

an emotional scrawl outside the video store...

the de-handed and feminized godzilla got an outfit change...

i'm no boy... i just need some cash...

unpacked my ancient silk skirts for summertime... they have managed to survive another year AND still fit... a delightful surprise...

this thunderstorm descended out of nowhere, as kansas tempests often do, but quite frankly, it was a big fat DUD. this sky promised something splendid, but it left me unsatisfied...

another music poster that spoke to me. i have lots of fake problems - no surprise there...

and, oh, hello there, little guy - you were my favorite surprise this morning by far, hiding behind the trees and buildings...
and now, stay tuned for CLUSTER later this weekend. think GRAPES :)

that godzilla cracks me up every time i see it. it's been in that window since like halloween two years ago or something. so funny.
i'm going to look for that little monster on the wall,,,
now that i look at him again, i don't think he quite got an outfit change - they just took his purse and that shiny chiffon off of his head. so i guess he's just regained a bit of his masculinity.
this is awesome... i think you should get free coffee at the cafe as royalty fees for their using your name... your skirts are sooo pretty... i want some pretty summer skirts too (if summer would ever remember this is California)... and i think that fake problems bit has the makings of a splendid doodle print :)
xo
i like joannes suggestion, and can i go with you when you get that free coffe ;)
godzilla two years! i swear you live in the funkiest town ever! :) :)
fun post it made me chuckle thanks happy weekend
A coffee shop named after you - what a lucky girl you are - wouldn't it be a nice surprise if they give you free cake every time you drop in? I think there should be a law like that - if you find a shop with your name they must give you free cake. Hmmmmm. I also love the little animal/monster thingy peeking out in the last shot - he looks a little surprised himself, I must say. And I hope the SAD person had a happy surprise and is not feeling so SAD anymore ...
The little guy on top of the building is my favorite suprise. As always lovely pictures of a place that seems loaded with suprises. Have a fabulous weekend.
Love your post! Those skirts are adorable and isn't it always wonderful when things fit? That was quite the stormy sky too. Makes me miss the thunderstorms we got in Atlanta!
I love your little walks and the photos you take. I would have wanted to stop in the cafe for sure. That godzilla is superb! What a wonderful stormy sky but what a shame it didn't produce anything! A super post.
I want a cafe with my name too.
I agree, you live in the funkiest town ever! I havent made my Surprise drawing yet :S Maybe during the weekend??

the little guy in the end is definitely my fave too. so cute! but i like the sad too. so small, but yet so powerful. but kinda sad too ;)
The Godzilla is so funny...and some how...WAY not scary enough to take over Tokyo, or any other city.
Good to see your out and about making sure all monsters are in their place.
How cool are you having your own coffee shop...how much do you charge for a Tall Iced Mango Tea?
Fake problems, that is great. Love the wine tags!
that little guy is my favorite surprise, too. he looks like you just caught him doing something naughty :)
