since we live in a college town, there is no shortage of indie music here. i'm not much of a concertgoer, but i get a huge kick out of scouting the poster art and the clever band names around town. i took a picture of a poster last fall that i really want to show here, but it has a very bad word in the name so i'd better not. this corner view was very hard work, i'll have you know, toting around a toddler in 100 degree weather and gawking at building walls. it all worked out, though - i stopped to have a beer and she fell asleep. silence. to me, THAT is music...

We are going to see Sharon Jones and the DapKings in Ann Arbor (University of Michigan) this week. I'm wondering now if I might see a few interesting posters. If so, guess what . . . they will so go on my blog! :) M
love the posters- was in a band, naturally we made posters which was just as much fun as the music itself..

Great posters - wouldn't it be lovely to collect them all? Oh, yes, these days I love silence - I've gone from someone who listened to music (classical, bit of jazz, bit of tango) ALL day long, to someone who savours the sounds of silence (and the distant sounds of waves breaking, and the wind ratlling around the house ...)

Briiliant idea to just shoot band posters! Clever person, you are. There's a band here that is currently using a Star Wars image on their posters and my son desperately wants to go to a show, thinking that Darth Vadar will actually be there.
Aimee, taking pictures of band fliers was such a great idea. There is a real art to it. And the names can be hilarious!

i always like seeing the band posters too! they're plastered all over the place, like renegade art. i like the grenade one for the granada. funny in a way.
