new markers and little monsters

why did it take me so long to discover copic markers? i picked up a few .01 black pigment liners this week at creative coldsnow in kansas city and i was an instant addict. and to my surprise they produced some new friends in my moleskine. i played around with the color digitally yesterday and rotated the angles here so you won't have to pull a muscle in order to meet them all. now i'm working through a dose of high-octane coffee because i had one hell of a time trying to fall asleep last night after doodling these little guys. they kept dancing around in my head and then eventually turned into something far more sinister which kept me wide-eyed well into the night. a thirty eight year old scared by monsters in the dark - do NOT tell!

and your little monsters are quite adorable, actually...but perhaps because it is the light of day...

never heard of them, but like the colours, the orange is so very orange. hugs.

thanks, soulbrush - the color isn't from the markers, though - i just added that digitally. so far i've only used the black copic markers but they are dreamy - they give lots of control over the lines and they don't bleed.

OH! I love, love, love, love, love, adore your little critters! How could these things keep you up at night, they're so darling!!! I would just want to take them out and play with them all day.

The lines are really beautiful. Looks like the pens flow very nicely. I saw a video on Copic MARKERS, and I thought they looked amazing. I want to get some when I return to the states. Take a peek:

I always enjoy discovering a new and helpful technique or tool. These monsters are so fun to look at--they remind me of illustrations in children's books or stickers. Hmm, you could turn these into stickers!

I've heard of copic markers, seen them in my friend's art stash but have never played with them. I need to investigate since I love using black markers for journaling.
Cute monsters, btw!

I don't know anything about those markers, but they must be good.
