the art heart party

last weekend i found artsygirl hard at work creating invitations for an imaginary 'art heart party', and from there she managed to talk me into making it a real art heart party. with such a creatively named event and such extensive plans mapped out in her head, how could i refuse? so she had five of her sweet friends over this afternoon to make valentines and decorate cupcakes. now we're all high on sugar, and i'm sure the other parents are just thrilled with me at the moment, because their kids are too.

so ends another weekend, with very sore arms from my spectacular fall down the stairs friday night...haha... the lights were off so i missed the last step, went splat on the landing, then bounced off the wall in the opposite direction down the last two steps. my arms, for some reason, took the brunt of this human pinball stunt. but they aren't too sore to pick up another cupcake, and that's exactly what i'm going to do right now.

Yum! Sounds like a lot of fun. I always prefer handmade invitations to store-bought cards! Your daughter is indeed artsy.

Oh my goodness, artsygirl is a budding creative GENIUS! What a fantastic idea for a party, and what a super duper mom you are for making it come true! Everything looks incredibly sweet and inspiring.

See?! There WAS a reason for that crazy owl with glow-in-the-dark eyes being put at the bottom of the stairs. You moved it, didn't you.

What a coincidence; I fell on Friday at a restaurant, missed a step just like you. The party sounds fun.

What a LOVEly idea! Looks like a load of fun was had! And cupcakes, yum. Hmmm, now there's an idea. Maybe it will help for my injured thumb (sustained while I was making a Valentine's heart just now, can you believe it?)

Oh Aimee, you always have me in stitches and I'm thankful your fall didn't bring any to you! Artsygirl's party looks sooo fun and I'm sure her friends had a blast! What is better than handmade valentines & cupcakes?

alas, birdiegirl destroyed her handmade invitations (twice) ... poor girl, after all that work - we had to rely on good old e-mail to get everyone here in person.

bella, you should have heard the guffaw on this end when i read your comment. if you only knew how accurate you were. yes (hanging my head in shame) i moved the owl with the glow in the dark eyes, and if i hadn't, i wouldn't have fallen.

LOL! Not that I'm unsympathetic to your fall, but your humor is healing. The cupcakes looks so yummy – I'm ready for a snack :)

the art heart party looks like it was wonderful and full of color. aimee, please be careful. this isn't the first time you've taken a colossal tumble and you've got to protect your 'money' arm not to mention every other bone in your body ;).

i just love that you did this...made what started out as her lovely creative idea into something so amazing to share...and in such a yummy way too!!!

now a fall down the stairs???? holy mishaps batman...i'm kind of feeling like a mom to you and wanting to remind you to be careful...you know, the way moms remind us every time we walk out the door to be careful of this and that?

hugs for your bruises...cupcakes sound like good medicine :)
