yum

so here are the finished goods! WHOA, that was a lot of work. i now have a serious and deep respect for those in the baking profession. i don't have that kind of stamina, so i won't be adding baker to my collection of miscellaneous job titles, but i do plan to add *food labeler* to the list. THAT was fun!

the label doodle also reminded me that i have a long overdue project for my brother-in-law's bakery. long ago i did the logo for him, and then promised to hand letter the signs and menus, but i haven't yet delivered on that part. he's been as incredibly patient as i've been incredibly lazy about it (and short on ideas, until now).

did all of you remember to move your clocks back where appropriate? oh, i long for the days when that extra hour meant something. my girls were wide awake at the same time they always get up - only today it was one hour earlier.

p.s. hope you all had a great halloween! oh! here's one last look at my demented pumpkin. my sister 'carved' hers this year with mr. potato head pieces - pure genius! can't wait to try that next year, after how this guy turned out:

oh, cindy! that is hilarious! demented pumpkin has now rotted, so he's even taken on a bit of the frog's skin tone. as for the breads, yes, i did make enough, and kept a few for us too :)

lynn, this was my first attempt at labeling... but i may have to try more of it. it was loads of fun! the challahs all sold, but i think i'll stick to labeling and carving demented pumpkins - and oh, soulbrush - as you may have gathered on this blog, there's not much kosher about me at all! i break as many rules as i can ;)

I am salivating, I kid you not. Your breads look FABULOUS and delicious and sooooo professional! WHOA is right. That is one seriously good-looking label, too. How fun! You should definitely add that to your list of talents. I love the way you colored in the challah. I would have snatched up a loaf or two right away.

I forgot to mention how much your demented pumpkin tickled me. For some reason, he reminds me of Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes, which I absolutely adore.

No daylight savings in Japan. weee!

I make a pretty mean challah myself, but your labels top my twisties any day. Beautiful job, I'm sure the recipients were thrilled! I know I would be.

12 loaves? EEP! I occasionally make challah and if I make two loaves at a time and think I've done a bang up job.

I'm certain I've never had labels that clever to go with the bread.

love the challah labels!

i actually forgot about turning the clocks back. totally. sunday morning, right as i was about to get into the car to go to play some hockey, something triggered the reminder. i was so mad i didn't get to use that extra hour of sleep in my bed! the couch just isn't the same thing.

Your labels look wonderful and so does your bread. I used to make dog treats to sell at the farmers market until I realised it was only coming up with the packaging and labelling ideas that I enjoyed, the baking became very boring indeed! I'm sure that there is a huge market for your designs in packaging.

Goodness, Amy! The challah breads were perfect and I loved, loved, loved the labels! And once again I'm mad at myself that I forgot about the blitz brunch. Aaaarrrghhh. Please holler if you find my brain...
Kudos! Enjoy your hard labor, if there's any left!
