tagged

thanks to both steve and cindy for their recent tags. i loved cindy's idea of posting pictures of herself as a child, so i went digging through my many boxes of stuff (see post below) for my old photos that i do believe qualify as vintage. (i'm the slightly taller, grouchy looking one.) so, here are my seven (plus) random facts; consider yourself tagged if you care to share :)

1. remember my dear sweet friend who found my daughter's hat in the street last week? well, yesterday she found my younger daughter's coat, also in the street, in nearly the exact same location.

2. i still can't figure out how i passed finance. someone must have helped me.

3. once i couldn't find my car at the minneapolis airport. it was late, i was exhausted, and i was in no mood for searching, so i gave up and took a cab home. my husband gently reminded me that we needed to go back and find my car the next day. it hadn't occurred to me.

4. i'm late for an appointment right now, and have no business writing this post.

5. i've survived every meeting and class since high school by taking notes backwards so no one can see what i'm really writing.

6. one of my best friends chronicles her life through car accidents (yes, she's had that many). my favorite accident was when she backed into one of her high school teachers in a drive-thru.

7. i can't get double dutch bus by frankie smith out of my head.

8. check out stephanie's gorgeous shop update. her work just blows me away.

9. my sister will kill me if she ever sees these pictures. don't tell. not that she would have anything to complain about - she got the cool glasses and that groovy red coat.

hurray! yippee! awesome! i love your childhood photos. you are both so cute. i just love looking at these photos from days gone by. something happens to the film as it ages that makes the colors just right.

your seven plus 2 (hmmm ... see what you're saying about finance) are great fun, but no. 1 and 3 are terrific. you all seem to have 'misplacing' things in common. fortunately, their are others to find them for you ;)!

I love to see childhood photos, too. Your sister in that top photo looks exactly like A.!

the 'couldn't find the car bit' was a typical space cadet moment! very funny :)))))

Give me a HO!

I hope you realize I'm singing and not making a request.

What great photos! LOVE the 70s decor, and you and your sister are really adorable. ReallY? You took notes BACKWARDS? Now that's skill. And good for you for passing finance. The only finance-related class I took was accounting 101, and I had to drop out.

Oh man, these are great!!!!!! I love old 70s photos - we must be close in age b/c my sister and I look remarkably similar - esp with the coats with the fake furry edges!!!!! Thanks for sharing such a personal side with us!

Backwards notes? You freaking rock mama.

oh. cindy, you're on to something there with the # of random facts vs my finance prowess. and somehow i survived another round of it in grad school... clearly there was someone helping, or they had to pass everyone to keep up the school rankings.

christy i think you're right - A does look a lot like her...

thereza - that was one of my classic space cadet moments - comparable to the moment when i lost my car at the dallas/fort worth airport but didn't realize that i had lost it, and instead wound up sobbing at the security guard's desk that my car had been stolen...

jan - if you recognize those coats w/the fake furry edges - and here's the real test - a mess of macrame - then we are indeed of the same era...

and BELLA! YES! i knew someone out there would have their funky bus fare on their way to a double dutch affair.

Yep, totally see daughter #2 in both you and your sis. My niece came to visit this weekend and was wearing one of my orange knit 70s outfits (poncho and everything), so I dug out the photos and showed her a pic of me wearing it umpteen years ago. So fun!
