i just get awesruck by your stuff, the sheer verbal diorrheoa (spelling?) of it is mind blowing. this weekend i will sort out the african stuff and have a good rummage through them.
sometimes, i wish i could just go out into the world wearing a force field to make me invisible. i just want to be quiet and get on with 'it', whatever 'it' happens to be that day, usually work.
One of the best things about being a freelancer is that I can hide in my studio for days on end! It's not that I don't like people... I just like to hide sometimes.
Boy, I tell you, YOU have such an awesome way with words . Your words are art truly! They are word pictures without trying. It's amazing! I'm so happy that you have discovered Ruby. She is my pride and joy! Derrick Barnes is the wonderful author of the series and he does such a fine job. I just finished doing the illustrations for Ruby 4 and it's due out in January 2009. I tell people all the time, " It's the hardest work I ever loved. I hope that you and your daughter will have fun reading Ruby. Most of all enjoy her birthday together. Have a wonderful time together and tell her that I wish her many more fun and wonderful birthday's Take care my friend. V

When I walk home from school, I sometimes find myself walking behind another parent that I'm only acquainted with. Passing them would require some form of recognition. So I lurk behind them, like some sort of bashful stalker. It's even more painful when they're slow walkers or if they stop at the drink machine. Then I have to stop and pretend to search for something in my purse.
What a fun word this week! So many ideas swirling....
i was just having a discussion with one of my friends about this... how if there is a lack of familiarity between two people from the same place, some one needs to take the initiative and greet the other... otherwise a coldness ensues which appears whenever you two meet again...
more so when you are in an environment with a strong heirarchy system...

This is awesome, it's the same walking down the street and coming across a neighbor in their yard. Do you stop and make small talk, do you wait to make eye contact when you get closer, will your wave hello be timed right? Found you via comments on Painted Fish. And saw you mention Lawrence, I love that town and my best friend lives there. Another friend and I took a print making class at the Art Center downtown. Sorry, I just get excited when I come across bloggers nearby.
