exhale. my pages for the do not leave unattended project are finished - with no wine or coffee or any other spills. for two days i was so worried i'd wreck this lovely journal that i couldn't do anything with it. on friday i finally accepted that i probably WOULD do something to mess it up, and only then was i able to jump in and zoom up to full speed happy doodling over the weekend.
next it goes to christy, and then.... and then....
happy monday all :)

I could never even dream to top that! What a wonderful series of pages. I can't wait to see the real thing. Now I'm really nervous!
and
You make me like where I live even more.
The pages are great, I like that you did the transition thing.
Darla
yes you make me like and appreciate lawrence even more too!
it is what it is, no comparison needed! :)

what wonderful entries. did you use watercolor for the background of these? the layered affect is fantastic.
awwww the bit about the overheards is the best!
i love the Brazil bit!!!!!hahahahaha
you know what, after doing this, even I like lawrence more!
darla- the transitions were an afterthought - i was pained by the blank pages on either side, and then i realized that a transition to my very loud stuff would be a good thing from yasmine's gorgeous, serene mushrooms...
megan - i use inkpads to color the backgrounds - they dry quickly and lay on top of journal pages so the paper won't buckle.
thank you suana! i am crazy about maps. these are really cool!
thereza, the brazil bit was my favorite too! it was so out there. as things in college towns usually are!
Aimee, I love Lawrence. It's such a neat funky little town with a world class university attached, which usually means a much more cosmopolitan town than you'd have otherwise.
I love your pages too! I really like how you do your lettering. It has a defined style but still looks so loose and free. Terrific work! Marilyn
Your pages are beyond amazing. Thank you so much for your contributions and helping to make this project so great!
What a very cool project! Your watercolor backdrops against your text and doodles take the cake. I really enjoyed reading these and I think my favorite was the overheard line, "you made me unthink"!
A bag of empty bags is a wonderful sentence... I'll be dropping it every now and then, ha, ha... but in Spanish, of course, ha, ha...
Wow - looks so amazing!
a-mazing!!!!!! i cannot wait to do mine!!!!

your pages are incredible (as is your blog)! i just love them and have the fear of messing up one of the journals, too. your fears, however, are obviously unfounded ;).
I love these journal pages....especially the bits of overheard conversations....how funny....
beautifully presented !!!
FabUUUUUUU! Your work is always so unique and gorgeous and fun. Frankly, my dear, I think what makes Lawrence so special is YOU. Only you can pick out the idiosyncrasies and the mundane and make them look like newly-found gems. You are like Norman Rockwell with words! LOVE your little townscape and the Overheards CRACKED me up. This will be a hard act to follow!
These are incredibly beautiful! I love so much how you find words and colors and somehow create a kind of magic with them - completely wonderful and full of poetry:-) Lovely, beautiful art!!!
I love the overheard conversations. All the pages are great.
Absolutely beautiful pages! I love your whimsical lettering and color. Makes me miss Lawrence even more than I already did!
thank you all! especially to jude, for starting this project in the first place. welcome new friends cindy, jonna, and curly girl :)
