wandering

a peek at some pretty old homes around town [a mixture of photos from today and last fall]... houses here run the gamut from ramshackle huts with dandelions to gorgeous historic beauties like these. all part of the lawrence experience. it is a 'live and let live' kind of place; i can breathe here.

new arrivals in funkytown, including a coffee can from us...

enough distraction for today; back to my daily programming :)

are you a witch? And what are you doing to that poor action figure? Who does he represent in your evil wodoo rituals?

hi all, maybe one of these days i'll post a few of the ramshackle huts for comparison!

soulbrush: now you have me intrigued! i need to get back to england; i've forgotten what the houses look like there.

thereza: glad you like your goody package! p.s. that magnet just screamed 'you'; you know which one i'm talking about, right?

alexandra: oh, you'll need to go back a few posts to understand the funkytown concept! in short, someone put out a few toys in their yard, and over the past month it's turned into a trading environment for the townies. so the stuff there changes every day, and thereza is right, it keeps getting more surreal by the day. i just keep taking pictures of whatever shows up; i had nothing to do with the action figure! some could argue that i am a witch though :)

darla, if the kettle is still there next time we go, i'll get it for you.

Can someone come finish painting the outside of our old house? It's half celery green and half white. Thank goodness it's a one-way street!

I have always LOVED the style of the older homes, Victorian homes especially. Such character, it really inspires my own art.

Love your blog, I just 'happened' by from a friend of a friend of a friend....you know how it goes!

Your little broken GI Joe and piggy took me back to my youth. lol
