a few weeks ago i went for a walk and saw this adorable little scene in someone's yard. yesterday we wandered that way again, and not only is funkytown still there, but it is now thriving as an interactive trading environment:
so we traded a few of our junky toys for a few of their junky toys. think i should drop off a doodle there too?
oh we saw a place just like this in australia last december, and it was beyond my wildest dreams, had never ever seen the likes of it before, what fun.
we left a bus driver and a daisy eraser, and one more thing i can't remember now! we took a mini inflatable ball and the girl with the blue hair and peace necklace.
What a fabulous idea! Oh, I wish I lived in the neighborhood of Funkytown. If you do a doodle, it will be worth a LOT of little treasures. I, personally, would eye that Gorey sketch.
I enjoy your blog so much, I'd like to give you an award. Please stop by by place when you get a chance.
wow THANKS bella! for both the blog mention, and for identifying the artist of that brilliant sketch! (i feel so unenlightened; i had no idea who gorey was, and now that i do, i'm afraid i'll spend days combing through his work.) i was really really tempted to take it, but it was such an anchor of funkytown that i didn't feel right taking it. maybe i'll exchange it for my doodle tomorrow if it is still there :)
exchanged a doodle for the gorey sketch today - and there were a few new items there as well - clearly we're not the only ones passing through funkytown!
