torn to shreds

i almost didn't get this post finished today. the unthinkable has happened. my 2 year old can now get out of her crib. no more naps. my life is over. i'm cross-eyed in grief and shock.

so i owe my crew of artist friends a HUGE thanks for coming last night for a wonderful evening of wine and painting. oh, did i need an escape! it was so nice to hear real adult voices, with intellectual perspectives and deep thoughts, and to watch such talented people at play.

above is the wreckage of the day: my favorite chagall book, torn to shreds. it sums up this week for us beautifully. i'd best post this now and find out what my 2 year old wrecking ball is up to.

(p.s. a very special happy birthday to robin!)

OH NO! Did #2 do that?! Well, I guess that'll be your excuse to collage up a storm with it. Thanks for the fun project last night! E was very excited to have a present this morning.

Eeek. Bookcases with locking doors. But then she'll learn how to pick locks because what's more enticing than something you can see but can't touch? Marilyn

oh my gosh ... i have that same chagall book ... i got it at a thrift store ... and used it to alter!!!! i guess it might not be the same one ... but i felt so daring, defacing an art book ..... but i still love what i did to it ....

oh i love hearing from tipsy keyboards as well as a tipsy tinyred!

marilyn i think you're spot on - the girl has already called 911 and has locked me out of nearly every room in the house - and that's just for starters - so i'm sure lockpicking is next on her list...

elizabeth - i've defaced so many books in my life that i really deserved this - yes there is such an illicit little zing that comes from ripping up a cool old book!

You reminded me of the 1st time my daughter did it. They just arrive in the room you're in and you are shocked silly! Thanks for the memory. She's 20 now. Where did the time go?
